Fall Front Porch Decor
This simple fall front porch decor would be easy to recreate with just a few pumpkins, mums, and seasonal textiles!
I have always been a rule follower. I’m a first born, so I think that comes with the territory. I think I could probably tell you every time I’ve gotten in trouble in my life because it mortifies me so much and leaves permanent mental scars. 😉
But most years when it comes to fall decor, I just can’t bring myself to follow the rules. I know it’s supposed to be yellow and brown and red. I know the pumpkins are supposed to be orange. But for some reason the tiny, minuscule amount of rebellion that I have in me comes out and I can never seem to bring myself to do it.
So this year I chose pink for our porch instead. Mostly because I stumbled upon some pretty pink mums at the nursery down the road, and once I saw them, I couldn’t not buy them, so that decided it. A pink fall porch it would be.
A Simple Fall Front Porch
I kind of have to sneak pink in at my house because even though I am a super girly girl, I live with all boys. And though they love me in all my girly-ness, for some reason the idea of lots of pink decor doesn’t excite them… I can’t imagine why.
But over the years I have found ways to incorporate it in small doses here and there, and since the porch area isn’t even IN the house, I figured I could get away with the pink out here.
Plus, as I mentioned, pink in the fall is kind of rebellious and unexpected, so I could just spring it on them. They never even saw it coming. 😉
I just happened to have some faux pink hydrangeas in my stash (because sometimes I can’t help myself and buy pink things and hide them away), so I used them along with some cream colored faux hydrangeas and little blush roses to put together this cute little wreath.
I actually hadn’t made a wreath since we lived in our townhouse, I think, but I stumbled on this super simple tutorial from my friend Laura at The Turquoise Home one day and thought, “Hey, I can do that!” So I did.
I have a feeling I may end up making more wreaths in coming seasons. I think this door must be larger than the one in our old house because it is difficult to find wreaths that are large enough for it. Nothing my craft stash and a few faux flowers can’t fix! 🙂
Our porch may be small, but it has been so fun to get to add a few simple touches to it for each season!
Do you like to decorate with traditional fall colors or are you rebellious like me? 😉 Let me know in the comments below!

I love the way you decorate with the change of season. Your porch is beautiful. We live in South Africa and we don’t do the seasonal decorating thing at all. But you are inspiring me to maybe start a new tradition!
Aw, thanks so much, Elizna! It definitely is so fun to change things up each season… it would be a great new tradition! 🙂

Your house is lovely and the way you have decorated the porch adds even more elegance. I like the fact that pumpkins can be purchased in more than just orange now-although I am not fond of the black ones I’ve seen. You have great taste in decorating. I have enjoyed following your blogs on decorating your new house. Taken a few of your ideas well.
Aw, you’re too sweet. Thank you so much, Marjorie! I am loving all the different colored pumpkins this season, too! So fun! Have a wonderful week! <3

Very pretty! I went with traditional oranges for the porch this year, but I did snag your large-picture-frame-as-a-wreath tip from long ago. A circular fall foliage wreath layered on top of the frame and I’m happy as can be! 🙂
Ooo I’m sure it’s beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing, Jennifer! Have a wonderful week! <3

I love this idea so much! This automatically makes a house seem so much more inviting and warm. My porch is also the same size as yours so I can already visualise me pulling off this project! Thanks for sharing.
Yay! So glad it was helpful for you! 🙂

Where are the porch chairs from?
Hi, Katie! I got them from Pier 1. The exact ones are sold out but these are similar: https://www.pier1.com/siesta-sand-flower-pattern-wood-garden-armchair/3611853.html?cgid=outdoor-chairs#nav=top&origin=gridswatch
Thanks and have a great day!

Thank you so much for sharing where you bought your chairs! I’ve been looking everywhere for ones like yours. Do you mind sharing the exact color of these chairs?
Hi, Thy! They were the “Chiara Natural Arm Dining Chair” from Pier 1. I don’t think they sell these exact chairs any longer, but they usually have something close. Have a great day!
