I use the garage more than my husband and I just looked at your pictures for inspiration. I already had two Gladiator Systems and they are solidly the best. Plus you can easily buy them in stages. Thanks for making this blog. I rotated my winter stuff to the back corner of garage and easy spring access to spring stuff. I used large kitty litter tubs with handles for my fertilizer Iā€™m using now.

Gah, that is frustrating! The Container Store’s Elfa system has deeper shelves, though it is more expensive than IKEA’s system, unfortunately. I’m guessing (hoping?!) that IKEA will continue to roll out more options for the BOAXEL system in the future. They’ll often release a basic set of options first and then add on later. Especially since there were so many more options with ALGOT, I’m thinking they’re just not done yet. (And it seems like they’ve had some major setbacks with Covid. I know our local store has tons and tons of empty shelves because of issues and delays.) So it might be worth it to hold tight for a few months to see if they roll out some deeper shelving options for BOAXEL. Sorry I couldn’t be more help!

Do you have any ideas for a comparable unit/ how we can hack/ outfit the current ikea shelving system with deeper shelves?

Hi, Maria! Our house is a new build, so we added the sink to the plan and they put it in while they were building. I’m not sure how difficult it would be to add one after the fact. I’m guessing it depends on how the plumbing runs in the rest of your house. Sorry I’m not more help with this!
