Seasonal Simplicity Summer Home Tour
It’s home tour day! I especially love this particular tour because ever since we moved into this house, simplicity has pretty much been my mantra. The longer I decorate, the more I find myself pulled toward clean, simple, uncluttered spaces that give a fresh vibe without feeling overdone… like our kitchen, for example!
One of my favorite ways to keep our seasonal decor “easy” is to use trays on our frequently used surfaces. They help to maintain order and ground the space by corralling decorative items in one spot, and they’re also easy to pick up and move out of the way if need be.
I found this beautiful round tray at Home Goods and I just love the texture it brings into the space. (And how well it pairs with the aqua jars!)
My very simplest trick for bringing a little more summer into any space? Flowers, of course! Donnie actually picked out these pink beauties at Whole Foods for me, and I am a bit obsessed! They are called “Sweet William,” and I wouldn’t object if we had some in every room of the house. 😉
The little box by the Keurig was another Home Goods find, and it ended up being the perfect size to hold our k-cups. I love that it makes them easily accessible and hides them enough to look pretty at the same time!
Right off the kitchen is our dining room. It has become one of my favorite rooms to decorate in this house, mostly because the boys are rarely in there, so it stays pretty the longest! 🙂 It is also right next to the front door, so it makes me smile every time I walk into the house.
I’ve found myself pulling out a ton of blue to decorate with this season, and the dining room certainly has its fair share…
This tiered tray is such an easy way to add seasonal decor to any room– I’ve already used it in several spaces in my home! I can quickly change out the decor pieces and get a totally different look in just a few minutes.
My most favorite thing in the dining room, though, is my grandmother’s hutch. I painted it white a few years ago, and it makes the perfect backdrop for some pretty decorative items each season.
I love the combo of blue + green, and all of the white really makes the colors pop nicely!

Abby! Me obsessed with NAVY=Me in LOVE with your dining room! Can you provide sources for your dining room? Specifically, the navy anchor, rope accessory, framed print, tall bottle, table runner, ok, everything! LOL
Lol! Thanks, Tiffany! The navy anchor and tall bottle are from Hobby Lobby. Rope accessory was Target from a few years ago I believe. The framed “print” is actually a swatch of a fabric I bought at JoAnn Fabrics a few years ago. The navy bowl and serving plate are also Target from a few years ago. And the table runner is recent from HomeGoods. I hope this helps! Have a great weekend!
